A necessary change in field service is well underway: 71% of service decision makers have made significant investments in mobile technologies and headcount. As customer expectations continue to rise, the new wave of field service workers entering the mobile workforce have their own expectations: that employers equip them with the best tools and technology to do their jobs.

Many jobs and tasks still require in-person service. When mobile workers have the same capabilities (and visibility) as office-based peers, they work more efficiently, increase the rate of first-visit resolutions, and improve the overall customer experience. As stay-at-home orders expanded over the past three months and consumer demand plummeted, companies spanning all sectors of the economy have been challenged to engage shaken and confused customers with questions and demands that would be considered unreasonable during normal times. Salesforce surveyed over 3,500 consumers worldwide to understand what customers actually need during these unprecedented times, and how companies can delight them in the absence of a playbook. June 25, 2020, marked a new first for Salesforce: the first fully virtual TrailheadDX. For the last four years, TrailheaDX has been Salesforce’s annual developer conference — an in-person San Francisco gathering of developers, admins and architects looking to grow their Salesforce skillset and innovate with the Salesforce Customer 360 Platform. 

But, as with most things in 2020, this year’s event took a different shape. 8 Ways to Stand in Support of the Black Community

Recent events in the U.S. underscore what it is to be Black in America and around the world. As the global president of BOLDforce, our employee resource group (ERG) for our Black employees and allies — I am saddened and angry at the recent murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. Our community has collectively echoed, “We are tired!” Because for us, the national news is not new. Our experience has always been through the lens of oppression, at the hands of systemic racism, dating back hundreds of years. But despite the emotional exhaustion, we have new opportunities to talk about our experiences with our colleagues, our managers, and our executives with renewed determination and urgency.

Taking Action for Racial Equality and Justice

Systemic racism and violence have affected the Black community for far too long. Across the nation and around the world people are grieving for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others who have been unjustly denied their fundamental rights to justice and even life itself. And, this all in the context of a global pandemic that is disproportionately impacting communities of color.

Introducing Automation Components

The Salesforce Platform offers two low code tools that allow users to automate tasks with clicks. These are Process Builder and Flow Builder. These tools offer a rich set of pre-built actions and components. On top of that, developers can also implement custom automation extensions that expose additional functionality.
